Why?

The campaign to save Mount Soledad is ground zero not only for the battle to preserve the heritage of a single city—San Diego—but also the legacy of an entire nation.  Historical landmarks like Mount Soledad are the threads that bind the fabric of our nation.  To remove them is to unravel our national unity.  The future of America depends on our recognition of the tremendous sacrifices of the past.  As in the case with Mount Soledad, wherever veterans are honored with the symbols of the fallen, an intolerant few will launch frivolous lawsuits that waste our tax dollars and threaten our heritage.  Failure to protect Mount Soledad as it stands today will place many other noble symbols of our past in jeopardy.  Now more than ever, Americans must stand together to preserve sacred memorials like Mount Soledad so that future generations can honor those who have sacrificed to protect the freedoms of this great nation.  Click here to learn more about the history of Mount Soledad
